I'm sure many of you were always so thrilled with all the forum down times. You have deals in the works and then the forum is down. You need tech help, and the forum is down.
While server problems can of course happen to the best, the hosting we had was clearly not as dependable as we would have liked. They did as well as they could and are some nice people. I'd like to thank them for getting us this far and for all the help they did provide.
<font color=red><b>*</b></font color>Now we have a new host. They are the <a href="http://www.worldogl.com/main.php">Online Gaming League</a>, or OGL for short.
Many many <b>thanks</b> to <b>Nash</b> aka MoFo on the forums for helping with this. He works at <a href="http://www.quakecon.org/">QuakeCon</a> and recommended us to OGL and to <b>Brian</b> aka tapper, who owns OGL and is top man at Quakecon. With the recommendation from Nash, Brian ok'd hosting for us. Bandwidth is provided by <a href="http://www.speakeasy.net/">SpeakEasy</a>
Thank you <b>VERY</b> much guys! <img src="http://www.pcabusers.net/forums/images/ ... /smile.gif"> <img src="http://www.pcabusers.net/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif">
Ok, so we get the new hosting approved. Now we need help getting it all going and the forum database imported. I have zero clue how to do most of that and thought it may take a few weeks at least to do it all.
Well, here comes <b>anthrax</b> to the rescue. The same day OGL approves us for hosting, he emails me wanting to get started on the move. I expected problems. Nash tells me thrax is "the master", and well, he is RIGHT! anthrax is the Chief Information Officer.
In no time he imports everything over and even the forum database! Is he human, or from another planet?
Once moved over more problems on my side turned up and thrax and MoFo helped me get over them with relative ease. Things like setting up our ftp (don't ask about my stupido mistake) and other things.
We ARE on a more dependable host and one that has similar likes. Hey, we all love Quake. <img src="http://www.pcabusers.net/forums/images/ ... ingrin.gif">
<b>Thanks</b> again goes out to <b>OGL, SpeakEasy, QuakeCon, Nash, anthrax</b> and <b>tapper</b>. <img src="http://www.pcabusers.net/forums/images/ ... /smile.gif"> <img src="http://www.pcabusers.net/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif">

I have to say that for me the forum loads way faster - I've had DSL for a long time now, but it's never loaded this quick for me. In the past it loaded quite a bit slower than some *other* forums and now this is as quick or even quicker.
Thanks again blade and all the others for the great job of keeping our forums alive!!!!!!!
