I have a Compaq branded Seagate Cheetah X15 18 gig drive. It has been lightly used and I have had it in my PC for a little over 2 weeks now.
The drive is 80 pin hot-swap capable, if you need it I will include include an 80 pin - 68 pin adapter that I am using with it right now.
ON pricewatch regular x15's start at about 335 shipped with no sca adapter. Compaq branded are 645.00
I would like to get xxxxxx shipped with insurance. This price includes the drive and one sca adapter.
I find myself in need of funds quickly. Price is now $260 shipped to your door!

Why not thread crap somewhere else ?

to be honest and this is not a thread crap.
I am a scsi freak with quite a few drives in the 10,000 and 15,000 variety.
The drive comes with no warranty, NONE
Compaq branded drives are only warrantied through the machine they came in
no ifs ands or butts.
You need to tell people that when you use a retail price for a non warranty drive unless you are going to carry the warranty yourself.
The drive with full warranty is $327 shipped from a very reputable site{hypermicro}
Honestly, I pick up bagged, warrantied, 10,000rpm 18gig 4 meg cache for $160 constantly so a fair price you get to figure off that I imagine.
Again, I am not trying to crap you but I also won't let you burn a PCA'r if the drive dies in a couple months and they try to warranty it.

I have not hidden the fact that this drive is a Compaq drive, and in fact I have been contacted by several people about the drive. I have fully disclosed to them the fact that they would need to RMA the drive through me and also the fact that I could have another drive within 48 hours 'IF' they ever had a problem.
These two people then very nicely declined which is understandable by me.
What your post has effectively done is killed anyone even contacting me about the drive.
Did you check out my heatware? I have traded a lot and by my record take trading and honesty within the trades very seriously.

Whoa guys, whoa. Sun, it's a nice drive, I'd say just repost it in another thread for a slightly lower price.
Bighammer, why the bad vibes?

bad vibes were not intended
I have seen the heatware and the volume of posts at the other site you frequent.
I am more worried about the community as a whole than 1 completed deal.
I bought a couple WD 18.3/10,000s and 1 was dead in the bag but the gentleman told me there was no warranty so I had to eat the drive.
I have had a lot, and I mean a lot of problems with Compaq trying to RMA drives through them even with all the original machine info.
Guys get them from work, state they will cover the warranty and then change jobs so the warranty ends up gone.
If you were worried about the drive selling, you should give people all the info.
If it wasn't a Compaq, I would have kept my mouth shut and let the buyer ask you the driive date for warranty.
I am very sorry for any loss of revenue due to my nose being in the thread but I stand by my post

Your post was nothing more than libel, and as for the 'community,' I would hesitate to trade hear now.
