Do you have any Idea what the percentage of tax payers that fudge on there tax returns?? What world are you living in ;) not the same one as the rest of us thats for sure
Whatever it is it has to be Fast and Stable !!!

Great, if I can find some cheap video cards, I'll ask before I post them.

Oh, and what's "goodness of your heart" mean? Losing money, breaking even, making $5 each, making $10 each card, making $30 each, etc.?

you know it wouldn't of been so bad if some of those who recently joined (Anandtech) hadn't taken advantage of the situation. You really can't blame them because they didn't break any of the rules as they were written, but their actions were detrimental to these For Sale Forums as a whole. Even if you disagree, the problem is that others will follow them and then you really will have a mess on your hands.

It's too bad because some of these Dealers are actually pretty good guys and if they had just showed some restraint they might have been able to keep on doing what they have been..of course on a much smaller scale.

What I don't understand is why they bother with these Forums. Most should be able to get a lot more locally than they do here as we are all Ferengi's at heart (albeit reformed Ferengi's) and it would kill us to pay anywhere near retail :)

Wow , here is an example of what dealers on a For Sale Forum can do to drive down Prices and Drive up members expectation's. I was just PM'ed by some guy wooking for a full Duron 700 system. Check out what he wants and what he is looking to pay.

All Names and Identities will be excluded to protect the innocent and the Low Ballers.

I heard that you can build systems on order. i am looking for this config

Duron 700MHz CPU
any multiplier adjustable mobo
256MB generic PC133 RAM
30-40 gig hd
NVIDIA Geforce MX
atleast 32X CD-ROM
onboard Sound is fine
1.44 MB Floppy Drive
108 Key Win98 Keyboard & Internet Mouse
Tower Case

for around 350 shipped?

A 40 Gig hard Drive?? A Geforce MX? At least a 32X CD-ROM???WTF?? Onboard Sound is fine. Well at least he is willing to make a concession for the price!! Hahaha I should have told him I did but the waiting list is at least a year :)

Geez, that is pretty insane. I hate it when people just hear some rumor and PM you about getting a system for below cost.

But I don't understand...do people actually make a lot of money building systems? Everytime I build one, I make like $20, which is why all my friends want me to do it, even though I don't mind, a couple other friends tell me it's not worth my time.

my best anandtech one is.... I wa sselling a KT7A-Raid board a few days b4 they were released and was asking 150 for it. some slug offered me $75 and then informed me Boards are to get Deals and U take what U can get and that he has been around and knows how these things work. and then after I insulted him he "reported me" for being Rude to him in an Email. LOL jagoff.

I itemized what each part would cost in my reply and I came up with $480.00. Did you notice he said $350.00 shipped? hahahah.. I had to laugh.

You can get a hell of a system for under a $1000.00 adnb you can get a Good one around $650.00 but for $350.00 shipped you get a Book PC, and not that good of one.

I'm looking for a system

1.2@ 1.4G thunderbird system
512 PC133
Geforce3
at least 30gig hd 7200 RPM
SB live at least MP3
Hardware Modem
CD-RW at least 12X
DVD at least 12X
3 piece speaker set, prefer 5 piece

I'm looking to spend about $350

Yup, it's funny watching people post these threads. The Key words are "At least." Yeah, like people are etching to give you more stuff at next to nothing. It's like begging for charity.

actually, if you have the hook ups you can get a lot of stuff, but you have to know some really major OEM people. When a company such as HP (which is from my experience) sells off their excess refurbished stuff they go real cheap. Most of the big places operate on just in time philosphy hence no warehouses so they have to get rid of tons of systems. When the original manufacturer gets the stuff back , they just pay say HP for it, in lots. Say 400 computer all $450 in no guaranteed condition. Last batch that came in at the place my dad works got in some 1.5 ghz p4s in the lot with geforce 2 pros and 256mb rimms, lowest speeds were in the 800s. So these get parted out, and usually the parts even though they are used, get cleaned up and gray marketed. So if you were really shady and gray market you could get parts for really cheap. Forums are really gray market, a lot of profits can be made, even though it may not seem like it.
