Great. The Mods at Anandtech have been notified about Stanky being on the loose and have been asked to post a warning and include a permanent warning in their rules thread.

Just wanted to add my .02 worth . It just worries me that newer traders that don't know about his earlier stunts (pre Heatware) will see a great trader standing up for him and will decide to take a chance and trade with him .

I honestly think Puto has some mental problems . I believe he wants to do right , but because of his mental problems he is unable to consistently make the right decisions .

He has lied countless times about staying away from the bbs after being banned and always shows back up . Seems like his constant lies and refusal to make his past bad trades good would be enough not to trade with someone with that type of integrity .

I Was there when Puto made his reputation. It WILL remain with him forever because he chose to try to make short term gains from some of us that are in this for the Long Haul. Some of us who consider our Word (Honesty) to be the MOST important and valuable asset we have. In the days before Heatware we had only our personal experiences by which to judge a trader and the name "Puto" became synonomous with "Bad Trader" His Actions (Nick) are one of the primary reasons that Heatware was started!!!!

Nick Caputo unfortunately views HONESTY as a Part time Job. If you choose to trust him, don't cry and whine later. Red Dawn and Blade are only trying to INFORM/Warn our AGN/PCA Brothers about a potentially dangerous situation that has arisen once again. I, for one, APPRECIATE thier efforts, both NOW and in the past.

I think many of you are underestimating the seriosness of puto's offenses, why possibly you weren't there or didn't visit AGN and Anand's as frequently, but he made all of those places hell with his crap from ripoffs to trolling (as a matter of fact the term troll was crerated for his being) I withdraw all of my statements and will watch with my "I told you so attitude" in high gear.

I made this trade before I knew he was the devil...but the devil was once an angel nonetheless...I have never believed in condeming someone for mistakes but from what I've read in this thread, maybe he has gone to far...

I know that you guys are posting this thread to protect all of us and that is correct....

BUT LEAVE AN EVAL IN HEATWARE FOR THOSE PAST INSTANCES FOR OTHERS TO SEE...I know if this deal turns sour then I will leave an eval for sure.....

That's your judgement call. I originated the deal with him not knowing who he was (he had posted under an alias on the new "old" AGN). I was in dire straits for a replacement vidcard for someone else at the time, and he sent it on a Saturday night FedEx (at no added cost) and I got it on Monday morning.
It's the only time I ever dealt with him and more than likely the last time.

I remember the monitor incident and all the other sh|t he pulled, the only reason I put up an eval is b/c the deal went ok and I got sick of being pestered for one by him.

As hammer mentioned the term "troll" was invented all because of him and a way to symbolize a total loser and one who attacks others at a forum with clear intentions to get others upset or rip them off. Other similar terms like snarf and stank also became popular thanks to his actions.

I don't blame you guys who did trade with him recently. He has always been a smooth talker and can come across as an ok guy at times and be very convincing in saying he get's a "bum wrap". He deserves that "wrap" guys. He earned it over and over and over, etc..

Now you know about him and we know some of you did not before. I emplore you, please be a part of the solution and not be a part of the problem.

RacerX, WickedMF , Rubber Duckie.. All excellent traders that I would not hesitate to deal with. If you must deal with him then fine , we can't tell you who you can or can't deal with and nor should we be able too. Just keep it private if you will. You guys are savy traders and are capable of looking out for yourselves. But not all are and if they see you saying good things about him they will be sitting ducks for him.

I'm getting several emails from others who puto is emailing and trying to convince them he's such a great guy. Please don't fall for his bullshit guys.

I remember many times when he did his usual and convinced others to send first he'd then sit on his end while he took his leasure playing with whatever was sent him. Then if he didn't like it he might eventually send it back weeks or months later. He'd always claim that it's his right to "change his mind". This all after a deal was agreed to and he had their end but they never got what he was suppose to send.

Things like that made many just forget trading on the net and they stayed away thinking it's all to risky, all thanks to nicky. So those are not around to give their take on him.

Once again, my 2 cents. I am not openly defending Nick. All I am saying is that at one time, everyone was a snotty, smart-mouth, pain-in-the-ass, young punk teenager. At that age, we all make mistakes. When I first joined the original AGN way back then, my first trade was going to be something with Nick. I, openly asked around about him and his ethics and was warned off by several of the senior citizen traders. I heeded those warnings and thank everyone for their responses. That was then. This is now. A period of around 3 years later. I decided, on my own free will, to give Nick a chance. I figured that I had never been burned by him and to date only 1 person has burned me. So, I decided to "dance with the devil" as Red so eloquently put it. Since day 1, I have lived by the phrase - Buyer Beware. I still do. I guess by doing this, I will not be trading around here too much anymore as I have committed one of the 7 deadly sins.

Yes, Nick is acting good now. I sincerely hope that someone doesn't get burned by him because of the trades that I have done and the Heatware evals that were posted by me and by him under my name.

If what you say about not trading here is so Mike I will indeed miss your excellent deals as I consider you a top notch trader, however I feel personally responsibe to all of the traders here to do my best to make this place as safe as possible for them to trade here, it is truly not worth trading a puto for you but that is your decision, and we can do little about it. We realize that you are more than capable of watching out for your own interests but an excellent trader also watches out for his fellow trader, and that is all we are really looking to do here not burn someone in effigy.

WickedMF, As much as I wished you hadn't dealt with him and how I really wish you didn't post a positive eval for him that shouldn't mean that your time here is numbered. I just wished you would have gone along with us and not said anything about your dealings. Even if you want to give him a chance yourself you must understand that there is no way in hell that he is ever going to be welcomed in the trading community with open arms. Maybe with "Open Fire" but not open arms.

Now if he could just get hit by a car or fall off a cliff things will be good again.

Whoooaaaa please. This is not about getting any members here upset. It is about warning others about caputo. Just because some of you did trade with him that's doesn't mean you're not welcome here. That's your perogative to trade with who you wish.

All were asking is please don't talk well of him here. I know those may be the facts of how things went with him but that's his typical setup. Get some good feedback from good traders so he can take advantage of others and get them to ship first.

You guys that did trade with him are still cool here.

He took a place we enjoyed going to and talking with friends, and turned it into a shithole, he posted in every post posting crap and starting shit with everyone, as well as posting porn on the pages. He ripped 2 very prominent members and at least 3 others that I can recall and generally made AGN and Anandtech a place people did not want to be, we lost many new members and even some older ones and the mods spent a great deal of time tracking down his IP's (which were dynamic) and eventually they were forced to block entire blocks to stop his posting. The reason we have a nice copascetic place now is because blade, Vidman and the other mods spent many hours eradicating his ass and there is no way I want to see that happen to this place, we have a great reputation as an excellent trader site and I for one am resolved to make this as safe a haven for people to be as is humanly possible.

Damned spelling mistakes drive me crazy, sorry nothing personal Greg.

Man I can see why Nick is able to do what he does.

Did you not read the other posts? You said you did but from your statement it doesn't sound like it. I personally busted him trying to rip off some 16 year old trying to sell him a non-existent Computer while at the same time trying to sell the same non-existent system to another potential victim at Sysop. He fscked over Josh at AGN with a Monitor, he screwed over Vidman with a monitor, he was ripping some guy off over at AMDZone about a month ago when we busted him and made him pay the guy. There were others that I don't remember the exact circumstances because it's been awhile. Hard Drives, Video Cards, Motherboards, you name it he’s stolen them. And if he doesn’t steal them then he keeps them for 2 or 3 months then returns them after being harassed by the trader and threatened with prosecution..

On top of that he also trolled sites causing undue mischief like posting hard core Porno at Anandtech when he was banned for being a stank thief. That's why they don't have graphics enabled there. Not only that but he has confessed to being a rip off by his statement saying that he isn’t like that anymore. Well the reason he isn't like that is because he can't be like that due to us making it tough for him to even trade.

Finally what part of "He was around way before heat and Rage even knew of AGN" didn't you understand? The nature of Heatware isthat you can't post negative ratings unless you personally dealt with him. Like Blade said may who he had ripped off were newbies and after being ripped off they said fsck iot and stopped trading. The others probably never bothered to post about him because by the time Heatware came about he was history.

Sorry to get so Chesty but this is frustrating. I was a Moderator at Anandtech during this time and I worked with the AGN Moderators trying to eradicate him and those like him. I was a lot of hard work but we had him ducking and covering where ever he posted. Now he's coming back around and he seems to have some sympathetic to his cause.
