I will try to get at them soon..I'm not sure how to take the grills off without breaking anything...lol
He thought the name started with an A...not sure though...
I don't think this car has anywhere to put the 3.5's , the ones I have are PPI also and are almost brand new...maybe I can trade all these speakers in for some components...
What do you guys think of the new line of Pioneer amps and subs...
I was looking at this sub:

WW, for amps, I'd probably stick with a PPI....Pioneer isn't bad but I'd say you can get better for the money.
Even a smallish Orion would rock your world
I wish the PDF link would work, wouldn't mind seeing the voice coil spec on the sub.

I have the Kicker Impulse 352xi right now powering te 10inch Orion XTR in a bandpass box.
Pushes the sub right to its limits
Then again, different sub + sealed box = you need way more power.
Look at at least 150watts RMS.

hey Viperoni, you comment about the rearfill can possibly be true, but then why bother with a FULL RANGE speaker in the rear deck if you're just supposed to be playing mids. Unless you buy some expaensive assed crossover equipment, those 6x9's are not only playing mids, but are also playing the highs AND lows...
And there a reason I say get components and ditch the rearfill. With good components, you don't want or need rearfill.
As for sub, the pioneer looks alright. I might wanna stay away from their amp though... One option though, if you want the best bang for buck and have 1 sub, find an amp that is 2ohm mono stable! Then get a 4ohm DVC sub. The pioneer DVC is same specs and price. one amp that would perfectly fit the bill is a pheonix gold xs2300. I also have a friend who has an orion cobalt 260 that seems to handle 2ohm stable all day with no problems if your interested. it's 4 years old, but is in mint condition and has only been used for 1 year. The RMS is 240 at 4ohm.
One thing to keep in mind is to get the most from your system it's a good idea come close to matching the RMS of the sub with amp. Underpowering your sub means it doesn't play as loud as it should. And when you do try to push it, it will distort and sound crappy. The only good thing though is that you can't damage your sub by distorting it or underpowering it. However, if you overpower, you get a lot of boom, but could blow your voice coil.. not very good...

Man i have to reformat and all you guys go nuts! Viper, sorry to say but phjorg is pretty close on this one. Look at a good SQ setup, no rear fill. the soundstage is supposed to be centered INFRONT of you.. Unless your runnin a dvd player in the car forget it man.. Oh, also tweeters in the A pillars? ack! They're best in the kickpanels of the car along with the midrange/bass, the imaging is easier like this.. btw shoot me an email WW i need your email addy!
Btw viper, once you push some real wattage into that sub, then you'll know what hittin HARD is

also, WW, here's a canadian site for ya. However, they are just opening up. I wrote them for a quote last week and they still have yet to get back to me. but they might be worth a look. http://www.genuinecanadianaudio.com/
Another site for info in the canadian scene is http://www.canadiancaraudio.com/cgi/Ult ... tion=intro wicked site and they have a for sale section you might wanna check
lastly, ebay is a great place for finding car audio stuff. Or at least it is for used amps. (i'd be wary of any used subs/speakers) Found a mint PG xs2500 for half of it's retail price.

Phjorg,
The best (and cheapest) way for WW to filter out the lows and highs would be to throw a cap and coil on the each speaker, and keep his fader on the fron a lot, but I digress.
I still stand by my statement of having rear fill; in fact many SQ vehicles have rear fill.
And the soundstage IS supposed to be in front of you, but what happens t the sound reflections with no rear speakers?
Bye bye reflfections.
Reg, The amps already taking the sub to its limits, but I sure woudln't mind having another 100watts RMS going into it
