Thieves take nearly $1M worth of brand-new Ford pickups from factory storage lot

An estimated $1 million worth of new 2022 Ford F-150 Raptor pickup trucks were stolen from a Dearborn Truck Plant storage lot, a Dearborn, Michigan, city official confirmed to the Detroit Free Press.
Ford on June 10 reported the missing high-performance trucks, which have a base price of $69,905, with multiple calls to police during that weekend, said Bilal Baydoun, Dearborn city spokesman.
Theft of brand-new vehicles from factory lots is surprisingly common. Earlier this year, a few high-end vehicles were stolen from Stellantis lots around Detroit. In May, a Chevrolet Camaro theft from a Lansing plant led to a high-speed chase. In 2018, nearly a dozen Ram pickups were stolen in a fashion similar to this month's Ford theft.
Maybe we should go back 150 years and start doing what they used to when you stole a man's horse.

my understanding is ford mustang Shelby's 500 GT are also on the in demand and missing off fords factory lot's .

list price is $80,000 each but im guess they sell for more as dealer will mark them up and get it .plus add in dealer add ons . bet it be $400,000 plus for just 4 of them. DAM who has this type of spare change after paying for a tank of premium gas

There are ways to prevent this... barriers all the way around the storage lot with tire strips and what not. But putting that up would be racist like putting up bullet proof glass is in Philadelphia.

we have to fully agree with you Pugsley / im not sure why they don't install concrete 1/4 or 1/3 walls all around those lots and spike them into the ground to stop this from happening .so you have to go out a gated entry at plants . then just cut a hole in a cyclone fence and drive them out like they are now .
