I just got my court date for my speeding ticket.

summary of the story:
I get clocked 50 in a 40.
Officer runs my license and it's flagged as private, since my father works in the corrections department (Law enforcement employee).
So he writes me up, then tells me to protest the ticket.
Repeats it a few times too.

So I finally go to the courtroom to protest the ticket and sign up for a court date.

I need some details on how the session is run for San Francisco.
In LA, I got assigned a block to be there, and the judge calls us up one at a time.
If the cop is there, you have to talk, etc. If he's a no show, then you get off.

But talking to the clerk today, he said the appointments are around 1 hour, so I'm assuming that it's not a group of people called up one at a time.
Will the cop still show up if it's just a one on one?

Also... if I have a maroon Tercel, can I get away with calling the ticket in error since the officer wrote that it's a red Tercel?

Thanks.
