Sadly, on Saturday, March 17, 2001, the beloved Buick passed away in my outstretched arms, and the company of friends and onlookers. After a long battle with her own engineering, she finally succombed to the abuse of a careless driver, who refused to give her the attention she deserved when she needed it most. Reluctantly, The Buick was towed to a Gimli dealer, and laid to rest in a desolate parking lot. In a brief yet proper ceremony, I and several friends paid respect to the car that had served us so well, and provided so many unforgettable memories for so many years. She was there in times of joy. She was there in times of sorrow. Sometimes with others. Sometimes with me. Just her and I, two seemingly inseperable entities that existed as one. The Buick was me. I was The Buick. It was a loving relationship that was suddenly and prematurely ended.

Goodbye, Buick. I will never forget you.

OK, OK.......I must ask, what kind of Buick was it, a classic '70 GS Skylark with a 455 stage1 or something more like my '79 POS Regal (4.9 liter) now given to my son?

It was a 1988 Regal Custom, with a 2.8L V6.

'88 would be like a new car to me. My newest, now out of 3 is my restored '86 Volvo with 200K miles on it (many new parts but like new again).
