This is going to be an interesting lawsuit because the lawyers are claiming that the FCA hid a defect. While I'm not a fan of the shifter's design, it works as intended. On the other-hand, I don't know why modern cars don't automatically engage the brakes if the driver's door is opened when the transmission is in neutral.
