Well I'm getting an 85 Caprice Classic for nothin. Black, V8 a true boat. I want to get this think pimped out. I've already got the system dual 12" kenwoods and decent speakers with a pioneer cd player head. I'm thinking blue neon lights to run along the bottom, neon license plate thing. I definately want to lower it a couple inches and get some chrome rims. Any other ideas? I basically want a low rider pimpmobile. Although i'd like some cheap suggestions to give it a bit more speed. Not really sure on that part. Thanks for any ideas.

V8? Is that the police special, or did caprices have those in 85?

Sounds pretty awsome to me.

Tint the windows if they aren't already. Add a blue or green tinge to the headlights too...

Hmmm. Some white-wall radials might be cool.

I doubt its a police special. I think that they were standard in the 80's. Almost every "boat" had one. I'm just curious as to what she can do on the highway. And BTW, it already has whitewalls :)

Brotha man!
We gots almost the same car!
I have an 86 Parisienne (same big ole boat)

We prolly got the same 305 5.0l Chevy under there :)

Mine has a poverty stereo, with a nice 10inch XTR/Bandpass and a Kicker Impulse amp....

No mods though

Go to Pep Boys and check out they're Chrome "Nugget" wheels.
Have 10 holes around the center, looks great on cars like ours.
Plus they're SUPER cheap, and I'm not kidding you.

pep boys sell crap rims
go to a dayton dealer and buy some chrome 20" wire rims
with the low Profile tires
through on some hydrolics

and make sure you put 5% tint on the windows ... or if that is illeagle put how ever the darkest tint you can on it

course that 5% limozine tint would be nice

oh and through them kenwood speakers away and go put some pioneer 12"s in it .. or jl audios .. but the pioneers sound a lot better .. and through a rockford amp in there

oh dont put the neon thing on the license plate .. put a chrome chain thingy around it

and to finish it off you have to put one of the taxi cab air freshners in the front dash

then and only then will you have your pimp/homie mobile :) :)

Man I'm just picturing this thing. LOL. But yeah the chain around the license plate is classic, truly classic. I dont think this caprice has a 5.0 in it. It may though. Really havent gotten a chance to drive it too much yet needs a new radiator and needs to be registered. Wish hydraulics werent illegal. Maybe a nitrous system :) jk

Cat, after the car is nice and warmed up, hold the brakes lighty (barely enough to stop the car from moving), and put the pedal down.
Hopefully you'll see some spinnage (mine after 180k won't even turn at all :( )

LMAO Pioneers better than Kenwood? I'm sorry but no. They have more bass, but all pioneer car speakers are muddy as hell.

They look really nice though, which leads me to the conclusion that they employ more makup artists than engineers.

I'm not saying Kenwoods are much better...but pioneer=junk

JL audio the best?
Hah!

Focal and Dynaaudio would own them likes there no tommorrow, in SQ that is.
Best sub you can buy?
The Aura 18 incher

Image

800watts RMS, 2inch fully linear excusrion, 4 inch voice coil.
Takes 4 high quality 12inch subs(Kicker/JL/Orion) to equal the sound this one puts out.

This is the box design.
Notice all the cross bracing :)
