ok i got a 93 lx mustang hatchback
it's got 3.55 gears in the rearend
2 1/2" 2 chamber flowmaster exhaust
The stereo in there right now is good. The speakers are pretty new. If i was to do something it would be a new head unit with 2 12" subs in the back.
Now what should i do with the engine?
I don't wanna spend alot of money but.....
Any suggestions are welcome
*please don't tell me to put 6" tips on the exhaust or something like that, remember, this is not a honda, and believe it or not that 6" tip does NOTHING for performance*

I've been through the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can remember your name
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain

heheheh j/j man, intake and exhaust are good places to start, a good CAI, headers, and catback exhaust should help to wake the car up!

i could put a h-pipe on there but i'm not sure if i want to make it any louder.
I'll probably get new headers in the future

Y/H pipes get ya more horsepower as well, and if I'm not mistaken, they actually change the tone of the rumble

Right now it's pretty loud. I'm not saying that loud it bad. In fact i like it. But i know i'd go nuts on long trips if i make it any louder, and a H-pipe will make it louder

Well, besides what's already mentioned it'll all depend on how much $$$ you feel like spending on it. That's what's attracted me also to V8 'Stangs is that it's a very adaptable car/power train to work with and there's tons of options you can do depending on how far you're willing to go with it. Without too much work, but ALOT more money you can also change the cam, heads and install a blower too. Nitrous is another option but honestly the stories I've heard about that stuff scares me as I like keeping one engine alive for as long as possible.
Not to take you far away from this site but FYI only, if you do a websearch on Mustang forums you'll find many forums on the subject but be carefull with some of the advice you might get as you'll meet up with a few BSers along the way (like everywhere really).

Before putting on a blower you'll definitely need to prep your engine for it. Get better injectors, a new fuel pump, larger throttle body, MAF. Also it's a very good idea to beef up your suspension and body. Do you have any suspension mods like progressive springs in the back, lower control arms, etc. Also do you have body strengthening mods like subframes, struts tower braces etc? I would definitely do these first before doing anything as drastic as a supercharger on a Stang. If you don't you won't have any traction and will just spin them tires all day long.

That's a good mag for anyone wanting to modify a Mustang. No limits to anything as long as you have the green $$$$ .
Get yourself a copy of the paper version (hobby shop or wherever) as it's chucked full of gobs of great adds/resources for all sorts of bolt-on goodness.
Then a seemingly good site I found is this:
http://www.stangnet.com/
That's the front page so click 'Forums' and join in. I'm also there as 'EvilHorace' (too many others with ....'Stang' in their names). It looks like a good, active site (lots of members) for anyone into Mustangs.
I'm wondering if 385HP is enough? The 150HP nitrous kit would be so easy (cheaper that a blower) and then I'd have 535HP at my disposal, hmmmmm?
