I was finally able to sell my 96 vette. I bought it in 2009 and sold it last Saturday. With my daughter in college (last child to leave the nest), it's just my wife and I with 4 cars: 2013 Honda CRV, 2005 Honda Accord 4 banger, 2001 Ford F150 Crew Cab, and the 1996 Vette.

After she is done with college, then I'll have to find another DD, as the 2005 Honda Accord will go to her. Anyway, it was a fun car to drive, and I never got a ticket! Amazing how fast you can go around corners, as I bought some sticky BF Goodrich tires.

The guy meet me at the local airport. We exchanged paper / money. I then gave him a brief explanation of the car and controls. The guys leaves and heads up north, about a 8 hour drive. Sends me a txt on my phone that he arrived and the car performed excellent - he got 28 mpg going 80 mph.

I have one car now that I'd like to get rid of, but I can't justify it based on it's value.. It's a 2000 Caddy DeVille DHS (it's got Night Vision!) and it's only worth about $2k because it's high mileage.. Instead of letting it go for the $2k I'm just going to have a new/rebuilt motor put in it soon and keep driving it. Rather not have another car note.. Truth be told I have 6 cars and one motorcycle.. Hoping to add car number 7 soon, just waiting to save up enough scratch and the right deal to come along on a minivan for my growing family.. Anybody got a garage for rent? lol

Yeah I like cars also, but living in the republic of Kalifornia, it costs a lot of money to have cars. Every other year your car needs to be smog. Gas costs more here. With just 2 of us, it just did not seem practical to have 4 cars with 2 people. I can always get another one later after my daughter graduates college.

They do, at least the ones from the early 90's and forward. Even the new C7 gets decent mileage. Most people think of the 70's when the vettes were gas hogs which they were, but now with modern technology improvements and computers, they get very good gas mileage.

Not the most exciting bit of information about the latest 455-hp all-American sports car, mind you, but when better mileage comes with more power, who are we to argue? The EPA officially estimates that the new C7, when equipped with the seven-speed manual (six-speed automatic figures still TBA), will get 17 mpg in the city, and 29 mpg on the highway.
