this reeks of desperation by the automakers...they can't compete with their products, so go with politics. so much for the free market?

That's the same crap they pulled back in the 40's with the Tucker. Back then, they put out a superior product and the big 3 killed it.

Elon Musk won't take it lying down. Just watch. This should be good. Besides, if you really want one you can order it online (yes, you really can) and anyone tech-savvy enough to want a Tesla won't have a problem with that.

I hope that Tesla is just the beginning. The auto industry has been due for a shake-up for quite some time.

Of course Jersey doesn't want the thing there, It will put all those gas station attendants out of a job! But seriously, this is coming from a stat whose people are too dumb to pump their own gas.
