EvilHorace...help!

Post by b-man1 »

:)

i'm looking for a rear view mirror wiring harness diagram for my car (07 IS350). basically, i'd like to patch into it for a radar detector hard wire install. this is the type of cable i would use:

http://invisicord.com/osc2/catalog/prod ... ucts_id=31

i haven't decided if i'll make one or just order one like that from somewhere. several vendors make them.

from forums, it sounds like the following is the correct cable for my year, but i thought i'd ask the expert in case you knew. it varies in different years, so better safe than sorry. i also read that some recommend NOT using the fuse option, as it's easier to replace the fuse box fuse than rip everything apart and re-solder the adapter's in-line fuse.
The BLACK wire is POSITIVE
The WHITE with TRACER is NEGATIVE
i don't have a meter that fits into that harness to test. :(

No easy way for me to just print a Lexus wiring diagram for that
(all online using OEM software and interactive) but I'd have to think wiring a radar detector couldn't be all that complex. I'd just look for something powered with acc. which is how every radar detector I've seen was wired.

thanks. yeah, it just needs the ground and +12v (acc) lines. they vary from year to year and the exact mirror for that model, etc. the majority of what i found matches with what i posted above, but was just looking for confirmation.

I'd just tap into the wiring for a cig lighter outlet as that'd be easier and if it blows the fuse, no big deal.
