It's odd to me why any newer car still under warranty would ever have an aftermarket air bag unless it was totaled and re-sold with a salvage title (rare).

from what I understand there talking about repair shops. after a crash or the bags being stolen being replaced with aftermarket bags not factory dealer installed replacements .as in this story on my local news !

OK. I guess the only solution for customers is to insist on OEM bags and to see receipts for the parts used after a crash.

Most people will never know unless this news gets out in a big way.

well of course my car is on that list...it's on every list out there! hahahaha

EH...the 'ol IS350 is now out of warranty (well, other than powertrain), so let's see what happens. :p

If it was an '06 GS 300 or IS 250, it'd be getting an engine overhaul (well, piston rings, valve springs).......the NEWEST Lexus nightmare! Not a recall but close, called a "Spa".

I'm once again considering changing careers as doing that job seems to be a bummer, doesn't pay enough and I don't want to be rebuilding engines for the rest of my working days.

whoa...a major non-recall that doesn't affect my 3.5L? amazing. :p

i'm actually strongly considering selling the IS350. i barely drive it now and it's in perfect condition...just depreciating more and more. my new accord does the trick and with winter coming, the IS will just sit in the garage for sure. heck, i have less than 15K on the thing!

15K? It's probably worth a lot still.
