car wont START :(

Been starting fine till tonight. turn the car off and 2 hour later go out and turn the key nothing. so needed a jump and started right up. drove it home like 5 miles turn it off and dead-wont start again in my driveway. so to morrow i have to fine out whats the problem . battery /alternator or short . its a 2002 saturn Vue. fun is the batterys in a protected case so it be a bit of extra work pulling it to get it tested. figure i'll have to start there first.

The fact that you were able to drive it five miles after a jump would suggest that the alternator is probably doing it's thing. I would start with the battery.

tony you were correct battery. ether the last one who tighten the positive post down over did it and it broke off the casing or it just snap . the battery was a 6 year warrieny unit but also was 5 years old per. the date stamp.
didn't matter i had to replace it. sure glad it happen close to home and was a easy fix -the alternator to replace it for a rebuilt go's for $200 and then the work of R & R it. the battery was a 15 min job plus drive time getting it to R & R . also to locate a alternator may of been fun to seeing saturns parts can be a pain to locate .
