lawn tractor problem

well problems and i know im at fault here.
i over filled my yardman 17.5 hp brigs ohv rider mower with oil.
i drain the unit and also found that the oil seem like it had gas mix in it.
but it was way over filled and i did run it that way for a bit. im talking like 20 mins. would smoke and run ruff .
now it seems to run fine but has a slight miss.
i did replace the spark plug and that seem to help some.
also when i engage the cutting deck it seems to run fine.
i must of had a min of 1/4 to 1/2 as much oil in the unit then it needed. before i drain it and refilled it again with Straight weight 30W. again and the proper level this time.
thats what happens when you read the owners manual and it saids 42 oz of oil to use and you dont check the dip stick.
the miss is not really bad but i know its there. anyone have a clue if it might go away or i just have to live with it. it seems to have the same power as it did before i messed up.
if it matters it is a 42 inch 7 speed yard machine lawn tractor.
like this but black.
