batterys warrientys -downgraded ?

why is it car and tractor battery no longer are avail with more then lets say a 3 year warrienty . they use to give up to 5 years !i just bought a diehard for my rider today and best i could get was a gold with 1 year warrienty

Sad to say, but check walmart. Mine came with an 8 or 9 year warranty and had the highest cranking power. I was impressed...oh and the cheapest.
Well, that is a car battery, outside of that I have no idea.

Funny, I'd swear the ones I have are both 5 year (purchased within a year from Autozone).

Yeah, I think the high end batteries I buy from Autozone are 5 year.
Just make sure to make a copy of that receipt. Curious how they're always printed on that cheap thermal paper that fades away in less than a year...

Ditto that. Mine are all faded, but just legible.

what do you guys recommend for a battery? i need to replace the one in my winter ride...it is dated 2004 and "tested bad" at my last dealership oil change. i forget the CCA rating it had from the test, but it was fairly low...so it's not ready for a WI winter.

If you've got the money, get an Optima. Those last! Otherwise, get one with a good warranty & keep the receipt.
