A New Hampton man is charged with eluding authorities after a motorcycle chase that officials say reached 123 mph.

The Floyd County sheriff's office says the chase happened Saturday night after a deputy tried to stop Michael Shekleton for a traffic violation in Charles City.

Authorities said Shekleton took off. The pursuit lasted about 20 minutes and went from Charles City into rural Floyd County and back to Charles City.

Shekleton was caught when he tried to hide behind a building.

Shekleton also is charged with excessive speeding, cited for driving with speeds up to 123 mph in a 30-mph zone and charged with 14 counts of failure to obey a stop sign or signal, unsafe passing and driving on the wrong side of a divided highway. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,534080,00.html

It wasn't fair, but I got 4 once because I passed the officer twice speeding. He wasn't going to do anything the first time, but the second time set him off. He got me on stupid stuff like liscense plate light being out (which I didn't think to check at the time, but it worked just fine).

1 For having a straight pipe. Fought it in court and ended up putting a glass pack on it and that made it even louder but it counted as a muffler.
