With GM, I think it'll be the small Ma & Pa dealerships in the boonies and perhaps largers ones that have alot of problems, those with poor CSI (bad customer relations, poor management). Maybe the same with Chrysler at first but I can't see the Fiat merger as being a good thing. Fiat was not exactly popular when they left the US (80s I think?).

It just occurred to me that I've never been to a dealer.

What's going to suck about it is that for those in the business, it means that they'll soon be alot of unemployed auto people out there applying for every opening. That means that if you did want to change employers in the car bus, they'll be alot of competition. As it is now, employers know that jobs are scarce so they treat people like "my way or the highway", major nitpicking BS because they know they've got you. Forget about raises too...ever.
Sometimes too employers realize that they're paying the older guys too much and realize that they could just have new, younger people doing your job for less money. Seen that before.

Let's all pray that the people about to lose their jobs today quickly find another job. I think many forget that this isn't just car salesmen losing jobs. It's also the mechanics, customer service, financing, etc that these dealers also employ.
