That's one of the coolest chase scenes ever.

I still want one of those chargers.............

Either car would be nice. I drove a similar '67 Mustang fastback once in '76 (The Bullit 'stang is a '68).
I see old Chargers at car shows all the time and although they're huge cars, they're very cool and have a definite attitude about them, like "get the F out of my way"

Cars didn't corner back then like they can today with modern suspension systems and tires. It's funny to see those cars all over the road on turns like that.

Yeah that was one of the all-time great chase scenes.

I think what made this car chase so good is that is was real. Today, everything is CGI. Not that CGI doesn't have it's uses. The LOTR movies and other movies like Transformers wouldn't have been able to pull off many of the scenes without it.

Used to have a '69 Mustang in top shape (interior was mint & original). It was stolen (must have been towed, because it had no engine). I'll never forgive myself for losing it. Would be worth $50,000 now if I had a chance to restore it.

I admit though to a secret love for challengers & chargers. Also, AMX & Javelins.

They couldn't stop very well either with 4 wheel drum brakes. Once they got hot and you'ld get brake fade, stopping was a bummer.

...............BUT, back then "Muscle cars" were affordable. The average person could save a few bucks and pay CASH for one new. Now, all the cool cars are so costly that either you're wealthy or you're paying off a big loan.

I think what made this car chase so good is that is was real.

That's coming back into fashion. Casino Royale used no CGI effects at all, and Batman The Dark Night uses minimal CGI, and almost none in the chase scenes.

Directors are (thankfully!) starting to get tired of using CGI. A chase scene still looks much more dramatic when done without special effects or just minimal effects to remove objects that aren't wanted in the scene.
