I traded off the '03 Mustang and bought a 2008 Dodge Avenger R/T AWD. I bout it about three weeks ago but it's been raining for the last 3 weeks here in Ohio and I couldn't get it cleaned up to take pictures. I finally got it washed and applied a coat of Zaino Z5 and Z2-Pro yesterday.

Very Nice :) Does the R/T mean it's got a V8? I know the Magnum R/Ts come with V8s but can't see them stuffing one into this car lol.. :) I bought an 07 Magnum SXT a few weeks ago as well and I'm loving it :)

The R/T Avenger comes with the 3.5L HO engine. It's supposed to make 230Hp. I was originally going to get a Charger but the monthly payment coupled with the insurance hike nixed that idea. I love the Magnums also. It's a shame that Chrysler isn't going to make them anymore.

The only change I would like to see to mine is a 6-speed manual rather than the 6-speed Autostick. Also, I don't see Chrysler fitting a Hemi in this car any time soon:

I didn't feel like cleaning the engine before that picture. By the way ego, do you, or anyone else, know how that engine cover comes off.

The are fun. and hopefully good in snow.

Gana do anything to it? intake, better sway bar or things like that or anything?

I just dont understand the HO engine thing though. I have a 2k maxima with a 3.0 and it is 222 hp. and the 3.5 nissans are now at a minimum of 355 hp+ and the HO 3.5 Nissans are over 300hp with out a turbo.

the life time warranty is nice and it looks good.

I'm not sure how it comes off, it could just be clips. My Magnum has the 3.5L HO engine as well. But mine is rear wheel drive and does not have that cover. I'll try and get some pictures of mine in the next day or so. And I'm going to start documenting my before & after stuff. I have a lot of mods planned for this car. :D

I'll probably do some upgrades once parts become available. There's not much out there right now aside from a K&N filter. As for the HO thing, I think it's just to differentiate the 3.5L used in their cars from the 3.5L used in their trucks. My wife's Grand Cherokee has a 3.5L also, but it's not an HO. Ford used to do this with the 5.0 in the '80's and '90's. They had a 5.0 HO for the Mustangs and Thunderchickens and another version for the F150's.

Nissan makes some nice cars and trucks. I was thinking about an Altima but I wanted a car with AWD. I think Nissan's 3.5L puts out more power than Chrysler's because they've put more time in developing the engine and it's the largest displacement offered in their cars (correct me if I'm wrong). I'm guessing that Chrysler didn't put more development in their 3.5L because they offer the 5.7L Hemi engine.

I'm getting 26 to 27 Mpg on the highway. Of course, I take it easy and use the cruise. The AWD system is supposed to only kick in the rear wheels as needed so the car is essentially FWD at cruising speeds.

Dont get the K&N. There is more and more proof that oiled filters ruin stuff. wait till there is something better. even the new fram airhog is better.
