I voted yes. Here's why:

Ford is set to introduce new engines in the next couple of years that feature direct injection. These engines can produce very good horsepower while maintaining good fuel economy. If successful, they will be a great boost for Ford.

Ford also sells cars in Australia and Europe that are not available in North America. I believe that if Ford does fall into trouble, they will sell Volvo and Jaguar.

I do wonder though if Chrysler will be around in 5 to 10 years.

They've already announced that both were for sale about a year ago, Land Rover too.

I also highly doubt that Ford will go under. Chrysler maybe.

I do know that their sales have been falling ever since they put that gay guy in charge. They're being boycotted for that reason.

No, after 30 years working in one place, I'd need to retire for my sanity. But there are those who love to work... I guess.

Retirement at the age of ~ 50 isn't an option for most people and career changes at that age isn't easy either.

Being that age myself, I honestly can't imagine why anyone would really want to retire that early UNLESS they somehow managed to save or inherit a buttload of money and yes, it'd take a buttload to last you until you die, might be another 30+ yrs?

Let's say that you're married like me. Would you really want to be stuck at home everyday watching Oprah and shopping with your wife everyday? NO I say! I'd rather be at work and that way, I enjoy my free time too.

Retire early and live it up? Everything today costs so much that unless you're rich, you'll run out of money fast. Let's say you need another car someday for example?

I know several guys older than me who retired somewhat early (pre 65) but still have to work a menial job just for the health insurance because you can't get Medicare until you're 65.
