man im finding carfax to be a joke .i just order the 30 unlimited and ran both my cars i have left .
the report only showed dates i bought then .no reports of shop work .
and one had a bumper replaced due to a accident .it was only the bumper but it should of showed that as it was repaired by the insurance company and work done at a dealerships repair shop .
i feel i just wasted $30
and i bought this to help my daughter in her search for a new used car.

The only thing you can do is find a dealer that sells recertified cars that carry a warrenty. I bought a 96 Mustang V6 used from a dealer with a 90 day. Transmission went out the first day I had it. They rebuilt it. After that the transmission started shifting into 3rd for no reason at all at highway speeds. After several frustrating months of trying different replacement parts (new servo, shift kit, etc), the dealer finally found it was the Range Sensor. The DIS box and computer also went out under warrenty.

Bottom line: find a dealer with a good reputation that will give you a warrenty.

By the way, my dad now drives that Mustang every day and it has 250,000 miles on it. I would recommend a Mustang because they are very reliable. Even with the problems above, I was never left stranded. However, Mustangs are RWD and are difficult to drive in bad weather.

A lot of used car dealers offer the ability to purchase extended unlimited mileage warranties which aren't too expensive and cover almost everything. My dad bought one for his Cadillac DHS and has not had to pay for any repair work, already saved him about $8000...

I agree with eGo. Lifetime Warranties pay for them selves over time.

Yeah but everyone has a mustang and a v6 is slow

the v6 stang is faster then some v8s I have driven

He probably means the V6 is slow with a 0-60 time of 7.0 seconds, vs. the Mustang V8 0-60 time of 5.0 seconds.

Of course the V6 is is slower than the V8. However, when I bought my 03, the V8 payment would have been $100 more per month. I just couldn't swing that. Besides, you won't find a quicker V6 for under $20K new. It has it's faults but it's fun to drive. If you keep your foot out of the gas and keep it around 60 mph, you'll get close to 28-30 mpg highway.
