nitrogen in tire's ?

Post by renovation »

is nitrogen really a major improvement or just a new sales tool ?

they tossed it in - but said it improved fuel economy and tire wear . and will you ever see the diffrents if you payed extra for it ?

Isn't the air we breath ~78% nitrogen?

The only advantage I would see is less heat.

Yes it is better, my dad has been doing it for years.

What it is, it is thicker then compressed air, so it will not leak out as easy, and it does not shrink or expand in the hot/cold weather as compressed air will, so it will keep a more steedy psi

what he said.

I think you would want to put extra in then though because manufactures expect the air to heat up and expand thus increasing the PSI. Just my thought though.

What has been said. At work when our nitrogen banks get below 300 psi (laser cant use it after that) i use whats left to fill forklift tires and my car tires.
