Infiniti G35
I'm thinking about getting one of these. I was looking at the coupe, diamond graphite finish (dark grey), 18" wheels, DVD navigation, 9 speaker bose cd, lether and a sunroof.
I found a dealer that will sell me the car for 34,500...3000 under invoice.
Just wanted to check your impressions on the car before I go buy it.

get the 6-spd if you can...it's supposed to be available soon if it isn't already. i've driven the auto G35-coupe and it is a nice ride, but the 6-spd would make it all the sweeeeter.
is there a reason you are looking at the G35 coupe over the nissan 350Z? for the extra cash you're paying you could get a higher level Z (touring package or even the track model) for about the same price.

I looked at both the 350Z and the G35, I chose the G35 over the Z because:
* Infiniti has much better service
* the G35 is better apointed interior
* the g35 is far roomier inside...more like a midsized car compared to the compact interior of the Z
* the G35 dask feels more like a luxury car compared to the Z's more ricer style
I like the Z, dont get me wrong, but the LA freeways wont let me miss that extra 7 horsepower on the Z and the G35 is by far a more comfortable ride. I have a stick now and while I love manual transmission, I'm tired of it on the hills and in freeway traffic. I'm ready to just relax for a bit.
The package i'm getting is:
2004 G35 coupe
Brilliant Silver finish
5spd Automatic with tiptronic
premium package - sunroof, 8speaker bose audio, dual climate control
graphite leather interior
DVD navigation system
$36,415 MSRP
We worked out the timeline and the pricing today, I should have the car in 60-90 days. wewt! I'm making $3000 car payments to turn my truck into equity...only have 2 of those left and then i'll get the car.

The only thing you have to worry about is the interior quality, from what I've read most people say they used cheap plastic and that it feels that way too. The car is incredibly good looking, I don't care for the 350Z's interior though. The Infinity is better looking IMHO, though once again; people have been complaining big time about the quality of the interior, with some reporting scratching parts of the interior very easily. My guess is that it's the silvery-looking material that they're referring to.
Other than that I think it's a bargain when you compare anything in or near its class.

alot of the nissans got rather cheap interiors. I have a 2k maxima and its one of the better ones, but I still find it cheaper then it should be for the cost of the car. And its all down hill from there.

Greg,
How do you like your Maxima? My 01 frontier has been good to me, but it's as plain jane as it gets. No frills, no extras, just the truck. I mean, it doesnt have power windows or mirrors. No tilt steering, no cruise control...hell, i'm luck it has a tach!
But for some reason, I love it. I have a lot of fun driving it, despite the fact that it's a cheap truck. I think im just ready for a little more for myself. I'm interested to hear your impressions of the car and Nissan. They are the same company (Infiniti and Nissan) but service from both is like night and day. If Nissan had the service that Infiniti did, I would probably be looking at the 350Z in a more favorable light.

I think I am hooked on nissan/infinity for life. this maxima is really nice. I got the SE with everything but leather and the bose audio basicaly and I love the car. I have beat the shit out of it though. got like 85k on it and its lost a little gittyup, but its still a very very nice ride.
And Dan from PCA has a 2k2 Altima (the redesigned one) and its very nice also....cheaper interior but still nice.
I have been trying to come up with good excuses to buy the 2k4 maxima but I havent come up with enough yet...maybe 0% would convince me. LOL I would love to get that ride.
Yea, I would NEVER go to the dealer for anything.
