Yup, I was on the ground today looking up. Looked good! Camera died no pics! Sorry! I had the seller drive it so if he breaks it I laugh. Went well though, She can spin tires for sure, and he did. Dropped off my loan app at the bank this AM.

Glad to hear it seems to be OK. I wish I had more garage space and $$$ so that I could buy more older cars myself.

I'd still run it through a shop for a buyer's check if you can. Tell the guy your wife insists or whatever. I found a really nice looking older Jeep SW one time, had some gearhead friends look at it, they said looks good, took it to my local mechanic for a check, and it had hairline (but growing) exhaust manifold cracks and something else engine related - he told me all of cars of that models made that year with that engine had the following problems...they were asking ~2500 for it, but it was $1500 to fix it all, and it was guaranteed to break again on that model.

Clever people can do lots of things to hide a real problem that only a pro can spot. A buddy once thought he'd hit the lottery when he found a real old T-Bird in a barn for cheap. Turned out the ol' boy that said "been in the barn for 20 years, don't know much about it" had mix and matched parts from 2 different years and then painted it so it was all the same color years before...

Yup I know. This is very chancey for sure. I'll bet it's going to have some problems but I just can't find any (yet). If the bank gives me the loan I'll prolly make double payment when I can. Funny thing is the guy at the banks wished I had put up a downpayment. HuH? I told I don't understand this downpayment thing. My credit score is 832. Then He says something about bigger bank proccess faster bla. It's only 5,000! Hell I have that much in their bank if I was to pull it all out but don't want to be that low.
All I can say now is my bank better come thru by tuesday as I give the seller $100 holding free and had him sighn a paper. Lots of people want this car but I'm the only one fighting for it. :) Wish me luck!!!!

The valve body or servo was probably upgraded to give stiffer shifts. Enjoy your new ride.

That's ridiculous that they were going to put you through all of that.. They should have just filed it as a personal loan at that amount. You did the right thing just paying cash for it. Enjoy!

Meh, it's an F-type.. Never liked them and I always hated that basket handle type spoiler.. ;\ And he's only $1-2K under the blue book value on the car. And I just saw the HP numbers on that motor, they're pathetic lol 275HP? My 3.5l V6 make 250HP lol And the 5.7l HEMI makes 350.. I suppose there could be some technology advances to accommodate the difference.. BUT! This is just my opinion and it's like an @$$hole.. We all have one and they all stink.. If you like the car, go for it, but only after you can drive it.
Actually, a 2002 Z-28 should be a 305 hp LS-1 - which can be tweaked pretty easily for more hp. You don't see a lot of 3.5l Chrysler sixes being dropped into other cars but LS-1 conversions are everywhere. I have even seen an LS-1 dropped in a Porsche 928. Personally, I think its a damn nice car and I wonder if you have ever had any seat time in one. My sister had a Trans-Am from that era and it was plenty fast.

As for the HP debate here.
No I'm not going to race the car or go to the track or anything like that.
I've never had a car with any thing even near even 200 HP. The last car I had with a V8 was a 81? A thunderbird with a 302 or 5 in it and some american racing rims and some fat tires. I had to bondo that thing up bad for a $1200 Car.
Just comparing the t bird could do a nice lil 1 second squeal.
Now the z28 is a whole new word to me. Ya step it down about about a quarter gas peddle travel length to quick and your doin the same as the t bird stamped. I haven't done a full stopped flat out burnout yet. Rubber ain't cheap! And like I stated before When I gave It at 30mph it wasn't a light screech. It Downshifted and caught hard! My neigbor heard me 1/8 mile away and knew it was me.
Just saying, 275 hp might be pathetic to some but so far it seems like more than enough and very happy with the preformance and the great sound a 350 V8 dual exhaust. Happy as a lark.
Got the title transfer today and full cover insurance on it. It's mine! :)

its not always hp that matters !
i remember back in the 60 - 70s it was all about hp. and what a car could do in the 1/4 mile on the street when we street drag race. you sit at a light and stomp on the gas and hope it didn't spin the tires and you loose becouse of it. most everyone i hung with had a boss or mach 1 mustang or camero or transam firebird, there were some roadrunners and AMX's and GTOS but the those were heavy compare to mustangs and cameros. one friend had a rare 440 dart swinger he bought brand new .he also had $$$$ and used/ran it at the drag strip on the weekends. and everyone wanted chrome wheels mostly made of magnesium/aluminum alloyed . problem was they crack under the center caps and you not know it till you took them off the car and remove the center caps when cleaning or replacing tires. I did see a couple of cars loose a wheel due to this problem :( . but you wouldn't dare leave the steel wheels from the factory on your hot rod. in those days you have smaller tires on the front and bigger / larger tires on the rear with air shocks on the rear to give you extra body lift /room for the tires. all the cars had Carburetor's and points and condensers , there were no computers in cars at that time. and fuel pumps were all Mechanical that ran off a cam on the motor. unless you did a electrical aftermarket add on .and then you were a rare person to have done that.

You would be surprised what a built trans can make a "weak" engine do. Friend of mine had a plain old 350 but he knew how to build a trans and man if that thing didn't light them up going to 3rd it was a miracle.
