I maybe having to buying a new car :(
not that its a bad thing seeing my car 12 plus years old it's just the timing !
just made a short list of whats wrong . then did a kellys blue book on it. the numbers don't add up to what repair costs could be to fix it. :bang
short list of parts needed .
BCM computer
rear wiper blade motor
2 headlight assm. (both are fogged up)
deck lid shocks
front end parts
plus the normal oil change ,brakes
the Last time I was Talking to myself . I got into such a heated argument . that is why I swore I never talk to that guy again. you know what it worked now no buddy talking to me. :help

Looks like easy stuff to me. As for the headlights, if it's on the outside it can be buffed out. They do that here often on older cars.

wish it was need both and a friend can get them for me at $65.00 each for aftermarket . but when I add all the stuff this car needs. its like a no brainer to off it. blue books said its worth 2-3 grand tops and I have to drop about 1/2 that into it right now !the bcm is about $400 if I buy the unit. but then it will still need to be programed at a dealership. then there the possibility I may have to buy a replacement dash cluster off EBay with a
warrantyat $65.00 plus me swapping it out. then hope it cures most the other problems. the rear wiper is $125 for a aftermarket replacement plus insulation .all for a 2002 Saturn vue.

You can live w/o a rear wiper and some of the other things. Despite what it might be worth, think about car payments. I've never had car payments.

I remember when that saturn was new man- that was a great summer- My wife was cheating on me, wouldnt even go on vacation with her children- But I hauled myself and 2 babies all the way fro NJ to Pontiac and we had a blast just chilling with you Mike.

Im sorry about your troubles friend, if I could give you my car I would, but im having a hard enough time keeping the bank from taking it.

You gonna get anouther truck? Your old van still around?

there all gone van ,pick up and cars - and in the next month or two this car will be to. not sure what I will buy to replace it. all we know is the car will be used as a trade in. I may not get anything for it. but it look good on paper anyway. one bad thing about a Saturn like mine it's all plastic. so you don't see the wear and tear the car really has on it. I have got my use out of it. I have also the last 4-5 years abused this car -its been my work truck . wife will more then likely get the new one and I take over her car unless. I do buy a small pick up but that's to be seen . there really not any small pickups made by Ford or GM . I understand Gm bring a smaller pick up out but not seen one yet. its just word of mouth that I have heard about the small pick up not sure its true.

There I thought that surely Ford and GM still made small PU trucks but apparently not.
Ford does have this however (not a fan of GM stuff since the mid '70s):

Looks like all the new GM trucks are huge too:

This summer I borrowed my brothers 2003 2500 silverado for my annual Montana trip (we fly to spokane WA and usually rent a car) But cash was tight and my little brother had just got a new yukon for his growing family.

We were pleasantly surprised.

My wife actually liked it (Shes preppy(opposite of me)- and swore she hates trucks

It drove like a dream- from nice hiways -mostly crusing 75-100mph- to alot of sketchy Montana roads that my wife did not believe were actually roads!
(If youve ever seen the show Mountain Men on Discovery- The Guy Tom lives where we go- and is a family friend)

We ended up averaging about 24 mpg, and I drive fast especially in Montana where the Law doesnt mind so much. My Camaro averages less then that

Found out that if I live long enough to ever be able to purchase another rig, it will probably be a truck. The reason is with my Medical condition, I cant drive for hours on end anymore without being in pain for days, I put about 3000 miles on the truck in 10 days and felt great.

Ive always owned at least one truck (usually older ones like my 55 gmc and 63 chevy) when I lived out west. But when i moved out east 11 years ago, I had to cut the truck and some other rigs out (insurance on one vehicle was 10 bucks more then insuring 2 cars, a truck, a motorcycle and quad in oregon)

Billygoat, pics of your old trucks? I love old PU trucks. When I lived in Wyo. ('75-'76), 50s era PUs in mint condition were common and inexpensive then. Now, those things yield big $$$.
