I'm amazed that those only get 37 MPG. There are now many gas engine only cars that do better than that and then Hybrids get better still.

Yeah but none of the other cars can run EV only and use NO gas.

I've been driving a Chevy Spark around for the last few days & am averaging 42mpg. Not bad at all. Though it's tinier than my Geo Metro, which is kind of annoying.

But yeah, being able to drive electric only is a big bonus for me. I rarely drive more than 40 minutes a day.

Those things are the biggest automotive joke ever and those who bought them didn't do their homework first. Many cars get better mileage than those, have better warranties and are larger, safer.

Not to mention that most of the cheaper alternatives seat four. The Smart electric starts at $25K. That's ridiculous.

A Base Ford Fusion Hybrid starts at $21.7K

Pretty sure I read that the Smart Electric is about the slowest car ever built, like 0-60 in over 20 seconds. I could never deal with any slow car ever, too damned unsafe for the real world.

The ONLY Smart dealer nearby dumped Smart and switched to Fiat when they first arrived here. The closest and only Smart dealer in this state is in Madison now.

Yeah, I checked into them when they first came out & was amazed that they were so crappy all around.
