intermittent wipers ?

have a problem with the wipers on my 2002 Saturn vue. the wipers will work fine one day. or when i turn them on . then the next time they will swipe slow in low or medium speed and then stop. right in the middle of the windshield. I can play with the wiper switch and get them to return to the rest position. but be fine in high speed and weather is not a factor when this happen . also can happen when I spray washer fluid to clean the windshield .
but if turn them on high they work fine. any clues as to whats going on . and before I spend $150.00 for a new wiper motor plus labor thought I ask here. I have replaced the wiper switch that was only like $28.00 and 1/2 of my time maybe . also the wiper motor is from the auto parts and non returnable if its not the fix. plus looks like a pain on this car to replace from looking at the repair manual I have .

There's usually a wiper delay module. It may be defective or have a bad contact.

To me it sounds more like the actual wiper switch on the column, I'd start there.

replaced it was a cheap replacement $28 or less forgot now . but didn't fix it
