Those kits are kinda interesting if you're the type who likes building ground up vehicles. Keep in mind that to finish it properly, it'll cost alot more $$.

I go to many car shows and see many finished, REAL "hot-rods", most are for sale too for ~$35Kish BUT most of them are just too generic for me. Most, even Fords have carbed, NA Chevy 350s (ho-hum) and pre-fab interiors that look like an 80's Chevy with a digital dash, not anything vintage-like at all.
I like those that sport different engines and/or huge blowers, have uniquely done vintage-like interiors but no doubt, lots of time and $$ was spent to do all that.

Something I've always wanted to do is take a late sixties/ early seventies cars and modernize it. I know this offends some of the purists but if I ever build a street rod, it's going to be to drive. For the kit above, it would be sweet to deck it out with the new Ford Ecoboost V6 engine.

I think it's worth it to get basically a new classic. I expected the extra espense, but that's what you'd have to do to build a classic anyhow.

The one I'd do is the Mk3 roadster which is a Cobra replicar. I love that body. Stuff either a stroker 408 or big block Ford into it (about 800hp) and you'ld be set. If only I had the space, time and money. Maybe someday.

Yeah, sadly, I just don't have the time & don't see any coming up in the next 10 years.

I'm a sucker for the modern styling of that GTM myself.

IF I was retired, inherited a buttload of money, moved into a house where I could have a huge garage and then single again too, I'd do that in a heartbeat.
....or would I just then spend the $80K and buy already done Cobra replicar? Hmmmm.

i know a bunch of people with classics . one has at last count 15 of them. me i dont have a place to store even one .but if i had the storage ,cash i own a 1966 or 65 dodge charger . some years back i came very close to buying one .but lack of a garage made me pass .now it's lack of storage and $$$$$.

I have 2 classics. A Cherry 1957 Ford Thunderbird (One of 29 still registered with Factory Overdrive on a 3 Speed Manual) and a Cherry 1960 Ford Ranchero. I keep them at my father's where they stay garaged and out of the weather.
