And I am one sore pcabuser!
It was a benefit for a local humane society. We did about 130 miles through WV, Maryland, and PA on back roads primarily. Plus about 40 miles each way up and back to the start for a total of about 210. Guess about 150 people showed up. We rode in groups of about 10, and ol' bessie my 1983 yamaha kept up pretty well with the pretty boys. I only really lagged behind on one stretch where it was real twisty and whoopsidoodle and I just wasn't comfortable with their speed and one stretch on the interstate where the heavy iron decided to race up a 5 mile incline. There were going real fast and I was plugging along at about 65-70 which is about as far as i'm comfortable.
It was really a lot of fun, got to see a lot of really pretty country and it really helped my confidence level (I've only really been back riding consistently for about 2 weeks after a layoff of many many years.) People were real nice and my poker hand (two cheesy pair) was in 5th place (which is cash). Temps were around 90 but tolerable. Looking forward to the next one!
Did my first motocrcyle poker run today!
