That s**t was off the rocker!!! If it weren't for the asses burning out in the parking lot after the movie, it would have been perfect. Alot of "non-racers" were also at the theater and found the movie really interesting. I know I drive crazy, but when I left the theatre, I did like 90 all the way home :)

The story sucked big time. But the racing made up for it.

They could have made it a bit more realistic though. People don't drag race in the streets with 20 inch chrome rims, they use 16 inch and the kind of tires that look like they have a no air but when the car starts going they blow up like balloons. I've seen a couple of these drag races in NY, they meet up at a certain spot and then get ready for the race by putting on the wheels and such. Now if it were like a car trying to race another car in the streets out of nowhere then I could understand but they met up with a lot of people and knew they were gonna drag race.

And in the movie when they were showing the Eclipse's engine they said in the movie that it was a turbo blah blah blah. It look like a regular Eclipse DOHC engine to me. And I don't think you can use that many nitro tanks in one car. I could have sworn I saw a car with 4 tanks.

The best part for me was getting to see my favorite car beat the other 3, the RX-7. Damn I want that car bad.

damn i dont know what kind of "street racing" you've been seeing, but people around here do usually have 18"-20" rims on Z28's, cobras, vettes, eclipses, lightnings. The kind of tires you are talking about are Racing Slicks, mikey thompson and such. No one really runs these on the street :P haha. Those are for the track, 1/4 and 1/8. If you have to take the time to change your wheels to race, it's not really street racing. Streetracing is just to line'em up and run light to light.

I used to have an '97 Eclipse GS-T. It was a turbo (Garrett) 3g turbo on an inline 4. Pushed about 215hp and was pretty quick. It was front wheel drive but a POS mitsubishi as a whole. You're not going to "see" the turbo charger like you would a supercharger. a turbo is fed by exhaust gasses, connected to a compressor via. This sits low on the engine. A Supercharger sits on the air intake of the engine and is easily seen (and heard!). I miss my Mustang Boss =/ It was totalled though. 400rwhp. Handled pretty damn good too =)

I think those tires are illegal in the streets, then again street racing is too. They put the time to put on the tires first and then race. They don't do it for normal street racing, only when they all meet up and race for money. With those kind of races they go on someones mark, not street lights. My friend street races in brooklyn, and as much as I hate Civics his is pretty fast and the tires look nice when they start out flat and then blow up.

400hp sounds sweet, how did you total it ? I'm just looking forward to getting an RX-7 and hooking it up a bit. Hopefully I'll buy it off from someone that already changed the rubber vacuum hoses for silicone hoses. The high heat from the engine makes the rubber hoses dry up and crack killing the performance of the car.

I was pulling out of blockbuster video when some jackoff doing about 55 on the shoulder of the road took the front end of my car off. I wasnt hurt or anything...but wish he had been.

It was a Mustang Cobra Engine with a Vortec 9lb supercharger. It flew to say the least.

If you look in the background that is my F-150 Lightning. I got some more pics of it i can upload. I LOVED that truck also. Man it was awesome. 5.7L Windsor Engine. It was a beast.

I can also upload the pictures of the other 95 Mustang GT i totalled, but that was my fault and a long story.

Actually there are some street legal racing slicks, but they aren't true "slicks" like you'd see on a race car. They are called D.O.T slicks and Drag Radials. They are basically slicks with a little bit of tred on them. The stupid thing is, the tred burns on really quick and you are left with slicks. How someone gets street legal approval for Drag Radials is beyond me. You'd think the Goverment would know better. LOL I'd never use those damn things though unless you are at a track. The second it rains you are SOL. Good luck driving :)
