.....And What did you think of it?
I thought it was a great movie and don't know why I heard in some places that it was supposed to be terriable.

I would give it a 5/5 for Miss Jolie and her two
'friends'.

"Yes!....Run, Lara, Run.....

" :lol

i went to see it last night with some friends, and i thought it was pretty good
lots of nice action scenes, alot of guns and the effects were very cool
of course, u also have those big pouty lips and her 2 friends
its not an intellectual masterpiece, but at least it doesnt make u dumber like some other movies...
alot of fun, just dont expect intellectual enlightment

Just got back from it... not too bad, nothing spectacular, worth seeing tho if you like "summer" action movies, it had some good scenes and wasn't corny. I gave it 3/5 stars... (oh and Angelina looked fine as usual

)

Quote from an e-mail I just got from a friend.......
I saw Tomb Raider last
night....the only good thing about that movie was Angelina Jolie's breasts,
lol.
That tells me all I need to know. (which means....until it comes on TV and unless I have NOTHING better to do, I may watch it then.)

Just got back from it myself and I enjoyed it. No it isn't an itellectual masterpiece, but such movies are usually boring. All in all, a fine flick. Angelina is hot enough to raise any movie rating up a notch or two

It was ok, at best. The set design and cinematography were top-notch, as far as action flicks go. The bungee scene was awesome. What really brought this movie down is that it didn't make any sense.
I don't want to put any spoilers here, but I will some it up as vaguely as possible. Stuff happened without any reason. Over 1/2 of the movie had no explanation for WHY a scene was happening. It was just there. Hence, the movie had no flow to it. It felt like a bunch of really cool scenes stuck together. I blame it on editing. I am sure they wanted to keep the movie relatively short, to keep the pace high. So the explanations for what was going on where cut out. In hte end, the movie lost all sense of direction, and just aimlessly went from scene to scene.
I gave it 3/5. It would easily get 4 if the editing/screenplay were more fluid.

I plan to avoid this film as I have 'Titanic' and 'Pearl Harbor'... Life's too short to waste on total crap...

"Total crap" is a relative term, I wouldn't call those movies crap, I actually thought they were OK. But you "waste your time" your way, and I'll waste mine my way...

What worked:
- Angelina Jolie! She was PERFECT in the part and did what she could with the script.
- Set design - Everything looked detailed and spiffy, but...
What didn't:
- Simon West CAN NOT direct action!!! The end of "Con Air" was a warning, "Tomb Ho" is proof! I haven't seen action this ineptlty done since "Grabulater". EVERY scene was screwed up and confused.
- The editing didn't help either. Monkeys with paper shredders would've been better. Every scene that looked cool in the trailers (motorcycle jump, Simon battle, bungee battle) was a MESS in the finished film.
- The script was sketchy, to say the least. Some good ideas appeared during the end, but it was rather thin throughout.
I give it a 5/10 and it's worth seeing at the dollar-show for Angelina's ACTING (really!) and the couple of things not ruined by the incompetance of Simon West.
It made $48 million in the opening week and Angelina's signed and gung-ho to do a sequel. I PRAY that they get an actual SCRIPT and a DECENT DIRECTOR to do it. I'd like to see someone like Robert Rodriguez helm it. It'll never happen and West will prolly be back to poop on it again.
(Check my icon and sig banner for proof of my sympathies with the makers. I just wanted a GOOD movie!)

I heard that the editing was all redone 2 weeks before the release. That would explain why the editing sucked so hard. The editor decided he didn't like it, so he did it himself. Fire that guy, hire John Woo, and we will all be happy with TR2.

I have to agree with Dirk, I am really dissappointed. WTF did they film this movie with, a dirty lense? It looks muddled/murky all the way through and too dark. I hate movies like that. Dark is one thing if IT's CLEAR.
The opening was fine but a total letdown after that and b-o-r-i-n-g. The action scenes were filmed too close at times and mostly were as Dirk said, just plain confusing and some just plain stupid. And did I mention it was hard to actually SEE what was going on at time.
Ok, let's take Jolia. Da breasts weren't all real of course and really looked fake. Looked more like she was wearing breast armor. Hardly a turn on. And her lips, she must have had even more lip injections than she normally has done. Aside from that she till looked fine.
And why the heck didn't they have more of her dressed as she was at first, like the tr ho original? :lol
Started off cool the fizzled quickly.
1 star for Jolia's sexiness and the beginning. Dat's it.

I thought that 'fuzziness' problem was only in my theather....it looked like most of the movie was out of focus. I would have to agree, Woo would make a better director for a sequel. The effects were cool, but some of them didn't seem to be what was shown in the trailers (example: when Lara looks through the dangling 'art' and sees the 'budda' type statue's head [when they are trying to get the first half of the triangle], a trailer showed a special effect and it wasn't shown in the actual movie).
Also, Anyone else notice that the following (which was in nearly every trailer) was removed from the movie?:
<i><In Italy in the big room with all the chairs></i>
Bad Guy (can't remember his name): We Can be Partners....
Lara: You might try to kill me.
Bad Guy: I won't kill you.
Lara: I said you'd TRY.
(Ok, and if WAS in your version, I got jipped!)
Maybe someone can do like what was done with 'The Phantom Edit' (I havn't seen any version of ST

O TPM, just making a point [sorry, not a star wars fan]) and re-edit this and make it so much better. I mean I liked it, but there were flaws.
