In talking with FreeBird, we thought that everyone might like this info:
VideoCDs are a really great way to record your OWN video (VHS Quality) without having to spend an arm or a leg on special DVD equipment, but can also be played back even on most DVD players (except some cheaper ones....which I figure everyone here that has a DVD player would have spent a pretty penny on it anyway). I made up a couple of VideoCDs for FreeBird of Music Videos and she loves them. One of the best things is that you can playback a VideoCD on a computer even if it doesn't have a DVD-ROM drive!
A Great place to buy VCDs (and non-region DVDs) is: http://www.getvcds.com
Once I can find a place to serve some files, I'll start uploading Videos [Mainly Music] that everyone can download and share, in a format that is easier to download of course....Real Player, Windows Media or QuickTime instead of a Raw MPEG1 feed [Huge file sizes].
Let me know if you are interested.....I may post some of this on the 'Cheers!' Forum too (since the DVD section just doesn't get visited enough).
