Los, there are some cringe worthy episodes in first season where the humor is painfully over the top. The episode where they sneak on to a Krill ship is the worst, but they find a better balance later. 2nd season has been great so far.

Thanks for the heads up! Every show seems to have its moments where the writers are trying to find that sweet spot, so they mess with things.
