Mythbusters build team reunites for Netflix series in new trailer

Post by FlyingPenguin »

Following the end of Mythbusters earlier this year on Discovery, the team is heading to Netflix to continue their off the wall scientific experiments. Well, part of them.

Tory Belleci, Kari Byron and Grant Imahara will star in Netflix’s White Rabbit Project, which is essentially an off-shoot of Mythbusters. Missing from the lineup are Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman most notably, who decided to leave the show last October after more than 14 seasons on the air. Based on the trailer seen above, Belleci, Byron and Imahara will almost replicate exactly what they were doing on Mythbusters, but will be able to get into a little more trouble because they’re not governed by traditional broadcast standards.

Scenarios like complicated jailbreaks, heists, pushing the limits of cars and other demystifying will play out in the series. Episodes will debut on the streaming service on Dec. 9, and like other Netflix shows, will be available to binge all at once.

Nice. I think Adam and Jamie simply got sick of one another too. I seemed more interested in what the build team was doing more than Adam and Jamie as the series went on. I think Discovery started killing the show with the tie in crap to other Discovery shows.

They were always really my favorite part of the old Mythbusters. Seems like they were just more entertaining than the other two later in the series.

Don't get me wrong, I love Jamie and Adam. They started up Tested, which I also enjoy, but it looks like Jamie removed himself from it and it's Adam's show now.

Either way, really looking forward to this.

I follow Adam on Twitter. I should watch Tested some time.

Mythbusters ran it's course. The last couple of seasons were pretty lame and I think they both knew it was Jumping the Shark time with all the stupid movie tie-ins (except Star Wars of course). However I have to say that although I liked the younger crew somewhat, I still liked Mythbusters best in the first two seasons before they were a full time gig and it was just Jamie and Adam, and an occasional assistant. They focused more on the process of the build back then. I've just finished re-watching those first two seasons and I really think those were the best.

I actually like the younger guys quite a bit. I'm excited to see what they come up with.
