I only just heard about this and just put it on my Netflix list. I liked the first movie and I always thought the 2nd one came off as cheesy. Looking forward to this:

This is the Superman 2 that fans have been waiting to see for nearly 30 years. Donner directed Superman: The Motion Picture & Superman 2 at the same time, but was forced by the Salkinds (producers) to concentrate his efforts on getting S1 done, it was decided he would go back to S2 at a later date - having shot nearly 75% of the film. Sadly, problems with the Salkinds did not allow for his return and Richard Lester was brought in to completly re-work Superman 2. Fans both love & hate the Lester version and have always wondered what the Donner verson would look like... well here is your chance to see! I was at the screening for this film and it was history in the making, never before in the history of film has a director been allowed to return to a film he was 'fired' from and finish his vision nearly 30 years later! This film differs quite a bit in tone than the 1980 version and has nearly 15 mins of new Marlon Brando footage... overall this a rare treat! Is it a better film than Lesters? Hard to say - but it is a must see for any Superman & Christopher Reeve fan!
