Definitely looks promising. Probably not much for a storyline, but the action is there.

well, finally saw this a few days ago. rotten tomatoes only gives it 22%...i guess i don't know what people expect when going to this type of movie. the action and special effects were great. hot women, dragons, robots, samurai, explosions...good enough for me.

8/10.

I want to see it but will probably have to wait for the Blu-Ray. A couple of guys at work went to see it and said it was excellent. My guess for the poor reviews is that many didn't like how it ends.

The soundtrack is also good. Emily Browning does an excellent cover of "Sweet Dreams."

I bought the Blu-Ray (extended edition) and got to watch it last night. Despite what the critics say, this was a great film. The cinematography was well done in respects to how the shots are framed, what the director decided to show and not show, and the use of color temperature to differentiate the fantasies. Many reviewers said there was no plot. On the contrary the story is well written and reminded me of Ambrose Bierce's "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge." The CGI scenes were also well done and the film transitions well from one "fantasy" to the next. The soundtrack is also very good and was well implemented into the movie. Emily Browning sings on Sweet Dreams, Where is My Mind, and Asleep. The movie was left a bit open at the end much like The Matrix so time will tell if there is a sequel or not.
