at the end are they dead or something i dont get the ghost contrast change between the father and mother/daugter

#1a if they are dead how did they die

#2 that women with the dread locks was "spared" even though shes already dead

im seriously not understanding this movie it seems to be devoid of all logic

Its just one of those movies that isnt supposed to spell it out. You can only guess.
The women was her birth mother, and like they said she could do no wrong in the eyes of her child.

Dead or not, THEY never left the world they entered. Im sure someone whos played the game can answer why they never returned from limbo.

Nope b/c the game is a cluster fcku of the same stuff. I still have no Idea what happened when I played SH1, Still a cool game and I also liked the movie.
