Tunis and his wife both tell me it is a great movie, but I haven't ever gotten past the first 5 mins. The whole black and white thing just annoys the hell outta me.

That's what stopped me too Wraith, now that I think about it. Plus it was boring, the few minutes I did watch of it so I never really gave it a chance either. But maybe it picks up.

It's considered one of the greatest movies of all time: http://us.imdb.com/top_250_films (#5)

It's not something to make you laugh or excite you, it's a brutally emotional movie about how awful the nazi's were and what one man did to save as many lives as he could. It's not something you want to watch all the time, heck after watching it once you may not ever see it again, but after seeing it, you won't forget about it anytime soon, it really is worth it.

Remember the Band of Brothers episode where they come across the concentration camp? Think about that, and you'll get a taste of what this movie is like, only much more gripping...

I've heard from several people that it was over-rated. I'll have to sit down and watch it to see for myself though.

And while you're on the topic of DVDs that haven't came out yet, where the heck is the Indiana Jones Trilogy? Back to the future? C'mon spielburg!

It's because speilberg is so terrified some may make good copies from a DVD and he'd miss sales because of that. That's something he despises.

Of course we all know how much he really needs moola. Gee, he made over 100million for doing nothing on JP3. Same speilberg kept the budget down for JP2 because he said it'd still make money regardless.

He is a great director at times but it's like he wants to take everyone to the cleaners. Lucas thinks like that too, but at least he is releasing the star wars movies this year I think.

Schindler's List is an excellent movie, very well done, but it has very low replay value.

i'd get it if it was out, however, spielberg and lucas have a lot on their plates right now and want to take time to get the DVD's done right.

ET is coming soon, BTTF/Indy trilogy have been "just around the corner" for years.
Other than those and the Star Wars Trilogy, pretty much all my must-haves have been slowly materializing.

braveheart, then forrest gump, then the godfather trilogy.

I never liked ET...and if they release the one that was just in the theatiers that is retarded. they hacked it up and changed it. its the Origonal or nothing for a movie like that.

so is it just the remake of E.T. or the entire movie that you don't like? I personally like ET, the music is awesome....John WIlliams is a God

John WIlliams:
Star Wars
Jaws
Back to the Future
Superman
Inidiana Jones
E.T.
Amistad
...am I missing any???

While I certainly dont agree with everything spielberg does he is without a doubt...a genius...

to those that never got through schlindlers list I highly recommend watching it straight through...it was one of the VERY few movies that have a permanent effect on me as a person...the brutal honesty, gritty realism, and almost viscious delivery all made for an absolutely amazing experience...

I was somewhat dissapointed with amistad though...he seemed to overly "hollywood" it focusing more on social commentary than delivering the story...
