Went with sis to the movies, was intending to see Resident Evil, but the chic at the counter said sis is underage (13). So we decided to see the Time Machine instead. $16 well spent. Glad I saw this one rather than Resident Evil. The creatures in Time Machine were actually freaky. Now sis will definitely close the closet drawer tight before shutting the lights and hitting the sack!! Very nice computer generated effects too.

Just my $0.02(Cdn) / $0.00000000000000001(USD) cents :)

Sorry plucky but I have to disagree with ya. :) I thought that was one very boring movie. I loved the original but this one lacked heart, along with an interesting story.

But that's just me. :) It might have been better if they developed the characters better and had a better actor playing the lead role.

Had some interesting parts though. But too little in between. Resident Evil and Blade 2 are far better.

After having seen Back to the Future, I wasn't really expecting much out of this movie at all. I think I got more than what I had expected, so its all good. If for nothing, at least the computer graphics was awesome. The lead fellow did a decent job of being a half-scientist half-nut :P

Never did see "Time Machine", the original, if there was indeed one, so can't really make the comparison between the old and the new.

At the end of the day, what really matters is that I believed I got my money's worth :)

das da fact! :)

Maybe I was just in a bad mood but I admit I expected more. There was an original "The Time Machine" that this is based on and took some very things from, the story also. It's from a novel by HG Wells.

You want a real good time travel movie then check out "Time after Time" with Macom McDowell who plays HG Wells chasing Jack the ripper to modern day San Francisco. ;) Unfortunately it isn't on DVD yet.

I wanted to see Time Machine in the theator also but now, maybe I'll just wait until it's on DVD and rent it later instead?
I know that sometimes seeing a flick if in a semi-bad mood can be a factor as I wasn't in a very good mood for Lord of the Rings either and thus wasn't overly impressed, maybe as a result of my mood then?

I saw it also this weekend with the mrs. It wasn't bad. The special effects were good. It held my interest. There just did not seem enough time for the story to elaborate on the creatures and stuff. Next thing you know, it was over.

I also did not get that converstion between the head baddie at the end and him about how building the time machine affecting him existing.

Thoughts.
