Where can I buy HK/Chinese DVDs?

Post by poop »

I really wanna see Shaolin Soccer, but I cannot seem to find it from anywhere reputable. I know about http://www.dddhouse.com, but I think they sell pirated stuff.

I really wanna see this movie, but I cannot find it anywhere that I feel ok ordering it from.

Fantum? Anyone? Help me, please.

Try this site:

and if I may say so....I LOVE this movie. I'm a huge fan of Chow Sing Chi, I've loved him since I've seen The Tricky Master. He's so funny. If you haven't seen this movie, it's halarious. Though, Steven Chi, being older as he is...is almost hard to recognise from his older films (which I've seen more of). In any case, if you like Chow Sing Chi or HK flicks, you'll love this one, it has to be my favorite.

*You have any suggestions for good HK movies? I'd love to see more. My friend is going to HK this summer (she's Chinese), and she's going to be picking me up a hoard of movies, if you'd like, you could give me some money, and I'd give it to her to buy write from the source (though b/c they're from China, the movies will be in VCD as opposed to DVD)

Be warned, it is nearly impossible to buy legit movies in China. A friend of mine went to HK and he said everything was bootlegs.

That's why I wanted a legit link. I think I will go ahead and order from dddhouse, though. Disney seems to have stopped all legit sources with their legal BS. DDDhouse does have really good service (I got Fist of Legend within one week).

Here are some of the cool chinese movies I have seen:
Wheels on Meals - Jackie Chan, Yuen Baio, and the Marshal Law guy (I forgot his name, DOH)
The Killer - John Woo directs Chow Yun Fat
A Better Tomorrow - Another Woo/Fat movie
A Chinese Ghost Story - Any movie with a giant tongue monster cannot be all bad ;)
Fist of Legend - The best Jet Li movie I have ever seen.

You might wanna try YesAsia too. I've order many times from them in the past while pretty much hassle free and were indeed originals.

I downloaded Fist of Legend off the net. Very good film, the fight scenes are awesome....to bad Jet Li's getting old now, he'd whoop your ASS!!!!!

P.S. did you ever get Shaolin Soccer??? If so, did you get the DVD or the VCD, just wanting to know the features on the DVD if you did get it.

It was shipped to me out of HK last week. So if I don't get spot-checked by customs, I should probably have it any day now.
