... and it is one of the best Anime I've seen in a long time. I watched all 6 DVD's, one per day.
I dunno what to say, this one keeps me almost speechless, 650 minutes of great Anime.
There's a good review that fits, read it right here .
There is also a tremendously original presentation of the characters. Each character is unique, no two being even remotely the same, and yet none of them are ever delved into anymore then they have to be. With each character, we are given what we need to know to understand their part in the story, yet never given more then we have to. In that way, the characters become even more real. I truly wanted to know more about this universe and the characters in it when the series ended, yet I didn’t find anything that was “necessary” missing from the series. That fact was what really told me at the end of the final episode that this series had left a major impact on me and that these characters were really ones I cared about.
This is so true, rarely do I start to care for the characters but this ones different. If you're into Anime and it's not yet in your collection, buy it, it's worth it. I have the limited collectors box, all 6 DVD and the soundtrack CD in a very nice box.

I finally found a place to get RC1 DVD's shipped to Germany, http://www.dvdboxoffice.com/ , they have good prices compared to what I have to pay here for Anime, free international shipping AND the english dub is so much better than the german dubs (that's why I want RC1 DVDs). Only the shipping takes a while (~2 weeks) but I'm not in a hurry.
Right now I'm trying to figure out what to order this month, either another of those big collectors boxes or a few single DVD's.

I think I'll get me a few single DVD's, some of them are already in my collection but on VHS (you can't watch them anymore after seeing DVDs godness).

- Akira (sadly no dice on the limited tin edition for now), already on VHS
- Blood: The Lost Vampire (I know kinda short and unfinished story)
- Castle of Cagliostro
- Ghost in the Shell, I have it already on VHS and the soundtrack is awesome, now I have to get it to enjoy it in 5.1 Dolby Digital
- Lain boxed set, I got it on VHS but it needs replacement with DVD

My future list looks like this:
- Trigun box set
- Fushigi Yugi, all three boxed sets

Well, that's what I want to get in the near future ... I have to spread it over a few months, the boxed sets are still expensive and I'm poor ;)

I want to get Ghost in the Shell still. I thought that was quite the movie. Wasn't anything like I thought it would be. Actually, it wasn't until a little while later that I realized how good it was. Very cool

As for Blood: The Last Vampire, is it just me, or should there have been more to that? It seems at the end of the movie (a very mere 40 minutes to my extreme irritation) that they just cut nearly 2/3 's of it out and said "here, take it and like it." It just seems to me like it is very incomplete. Which is a shame as the animation is absolutely astounding!

Don't forget Ninja Scroll Doc. Damn cool flick. I truly enjoyed the entire thing.

I have Anime on 14 DVDs and 72 VHS and I agree, Ninja Scroll kicks butt, one of my favourite ones.
If ya into this style you might also like "Wrath of the Ninja" or "Blood Reign". Another one would be "Red Hawk" which should be out on DVD end of february, but this one has a somewhat open ending. You could sample that one and a few others when you have a fat pipe at http://www.sputnik7.com , they stream their videos up to 300kbps and that works good with Anime ... finally they have the last part of "Gunbuster" online.

Sadly some of the movies you can watch and might even want to buy are not yet on DVD.

- Red Hawk = end of february
- Orguss 02 = end of november this year
- Giant Robo = unknown
- Gunbuster = maybe may this year

Those are the better ones to sample.
