I thought it was good and I did not even read the book.
No bias comparison.

was supposed to watch it with some chic but she never showed

So I saw most of it and thought it was "ok" Not great, not bad. Worth checkin' it out. I'm sure the kids will love it--since it's directed more towards them. Has some humorous parts too...

It is pretty good. I liked it.
It is definitely targeted at youngsters, but is enjoyable for adults and big kids, like myself.

Yea, pretty good all around movie. The only thing that ruins it is the "dumming down" for the american release. Some of the scarier scenes were cut out too. The huge edit at the end is particularly annoying and obviously just done to keep the PG rating. Hopefully, they'll release a full version on DVD.

She asked me! To make a long story short, she called my dad and my dad told her I went to a friends house, which was a lie I told him--so thats why she didn't show cause she thought I went to a friends house
My 12 yr old daughter liked it but......

she said Lord of the Rings is better.
Maybe Potter's hype has outpaced the substance!
