Heavy Metal

Post by SWScorch »

Well, since this appears to be a music forum as well, who wants to suggest some nice dark, heavy, brutal, painful, cacaphonous, evil metal? I'll start:

Metallica (gotta have 'em)
Slayer
Testament
Sepultura
Zao (awesome band- if you're into metalcore, you MUST check these guys out... phenomonal musicians)
Crutch (similar to Zao)
Extol
Exhumed
Carcass
Nile (awesome Middle-Eastern themed Black Metal band)
Meshuggah
Dimmu Borgir (the only band that is almost too heavy for me... I actually have to turn my speakers down when I listen to these guys)
Tourniquet
Training for Utopia
Blind Guardian (cool Progressive Metal band, very distinctive, but easy, sound)
Celtic Frost
Coalesce
Strapping Young Lad (absolutelty the angriest music I've ever heard.. the singer is a MADMAN!)

anybody got any other suggestions? Oh yes, and if you have any good Classical, or Classic Rock, or Instrumental pieces, I'd like to hear those too.

Napalm Death -> About the heaviest stuff I have ever heard.

What about Pantera and Black Sabbath?

not heavy enough. :) I do like Pantera a lot though, and Black Sabbath has some good songs, but they have more of a dreary, lethargic tone to them. Napalm Death is pretty good too.
