Swordfish and Bridget Jones's Diary

Post by Peacekeepr »

Hey peeps,

Just wanted to see what people thought of Swordfish and Bridget Jones's Diary....
I watched these the other nite and 1 I found extremely good and the other was just watchable.

1) Swordfish I found really really entertaining and worthwhile. There was lots of action and the way the story structure was really messed but I thought it made it better......There were a few inconsistancies For example: Remember the scene were the women blows up and the ballbearings tear everythign to shreds, well later in the storyline, when the bus is flying the one hostage falls out and blows up...I didnt see ballbearings fly everywhere......

Rating: 4.19/5

2)Bridget Jones's Diary - An english Romance Comedy......Really nothing much to say......It was watchable but it was mostly a chik flick :P

Rating: 2.86/5

Saw Swordfish in the theather and BJD on DVD (via netflix) the other day.

Swordfish (I feel) was an attempt to create another Matrix.....the effects were good, but the plot was sorely lacking and very predictible. (I won't go into it since it will spoil the ending).
I give it a 3/5 (letting the special effects override the plot)

Bridget Jones Diary on the other hand, was a chick flick from beginning to end and a BIG ad for MSN too. I admit I did laugh a couple times, but no where near enough had I been to the theatre or actually RENTED and paid good money for it. I admit the plot was getting predictable while watching it....like "oh I bet this is what is going to happen" and as clockwork.....it happens. I sometimes wonder if women don't see this problem in movies or they don't care. Many "chick flicks" that are rated highly, end up with this problem.
