Cool! I haven't seen Shrek yet and I've heard that it's fantastic. Episode 1 was OK, but I've only seen it at the theatre once, so getting the new special feature DVD will be worth it...

I'll buy FF. I thought it was a cool movie. Not Academy award style, but still cool.

Here are my opinions of the three mentioned dvds being released this month:
starting with the worst.

1) Final Fantasy: The Spirts Within

OMFG this movie really was a dull movie, I didnt find it very entertaining at all. I couldnt wait for it to be finished. Sure Sure the graphics were amazing but the story left alot to be disired. They could have done soooo much more with the phantom concept.

2) Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace

This is a step in the right direction by George Lucas by releasing it on DVD, I really disappointed that the originals havent yet been released on DVD. The movie was entertaining, didnt really live up to the hype and it wasnt as high quality as the first 3, it just didnt have the same magic that 4,5,6 did.

3) Shrek

This in my opinion is a must see for anyone. It was sooo funny.... Eddie Murphy does a great job playing the donkey. If you get a chance to see this do it. I highly recommand it :) ) 5/5

Hehe Peacekeeper, I agree with you all the way!
A friend brought over EP1 today and we watched it, and my opinion of it doesnt change : still krapp!
Shrek: Haven't seen, but have only heard good things about, so Ill definitely be getting the DVD
FF: Story was very umm lame! Maybe it appeals to the Japanese Anime crowd, but not to me
Apocalypse Now Redux is coming out next month, I will have to get that ! Apocalypse is one of my fav. movies of all time, and this version adds about 50 min of extra footage to make the total running time 202 minutes =) 3.5 Hours of Francis Ford Coppola's epic war masterpiece
Enough Of My Rants!
Enjoy your dvds :)
Welcome to the machine.

ST: TMP???
it just didnt have the same magic that 4,5,6 did.

While I agree to a point on that, I also tend to think that this is due to the fact that the originals were like nothing that had come before and they are legendary movies to us. There was no way in hell EP1 could have lived up to the hype. While not the best of the SW movies, keep in mind that neither was the original. Most folks agree that it was the lamest of the original trilogy.
