One Kick-Ass movie

But it's one you will either love or hate. "3000 Miles To Graceland"

Not really about Elvis so even if you hate him you may still like this one. Crooks are Elvis impersonators so they can rob a casino in Vegas. At first it's some Elvis stuff because of an Elvis convention but most of the movie is plain kick-ass! Has some Elvis puns and jokes but it's a cold crook movie that reminded me of Payback and in some parts actually like Die Hard.

Filmed differently than most films in parts but it all adds up to an instant classic in my book. Has Kurt Russel, Kevin Costner and an unusually very sexy Courtney Cox as the main stars. Plus has some of the better Vegas scenes than any movie has ever shown. Thumb UP! :D

I lived their about 12 years. What this movie does is what all do. For example, here they all are struttin' downtown and walk into what really is the Horseshow casino as the one they will rob but later turns out to really be The Riviera which is on the strip 5 miles away. :D

Even that early 80's tv show "Vegas" did that all the time. Dan Tana would make a right and from where he was driving he'd be beside a certain casino but really was beside one miles away. They never seem to get their logistics right. But no one will ever notice unless they're familar with vegas.

Another interesting story on Kurt Russel. His first movie was in an Elvis movie called "It Happend at the World's fair". He was a kid at the fair who Elvis paid 25 cents to kick him just so he could go see the pretty nurse. Then later Disney signs him to do many disney movies.

After Elvis died Russel played Elvis in the Dick Clark produced movie called "Elvis" and that still is the best movie about Elvis that's been made so far. Now here he is back playing an Elvis impersonator. Anyway, I find that all interesting since his first movie was in an Elvis movie.

And in the early 90's MGM(I think) was going to make a big budget movie about Elvis's life. Kevin Costner lobbied real hard for the part. So did Stallone. Stallone? It never got made for whatever reasons.

I wanted to see it in the theatre but never got around to it. Now it just came out to rent on DVD, I haven't had a chance to see it yet, but I will soon... I loved the trailer for it! (Viva, Los Vegas!) ;)

I wanted to see it when it came out too but the critics panned it so bad that turned me away.

They said it was too cold, and it really is. But that's what makes it a kick-ass movie along with a good story and some great action scenes. Some filmed like from the matrix, die hard etc.. Guess the critics were expecting some fluffy lighthearted drama or comedy. And it ain't no comedy, but it does have some good puns.

Circuit City had it for 12.99 so I got it. Not bad for a new release.

btw tunis, it's Las Vegas. With an a. ;) :P

Well I rented the DVD last night, not too shabby! I liked the action and cinematography, the way the plot twisted was pretty cool... :)

Yeah I have to asy I enjoyed it thoroughly as well. The only truly stupid thing in it was that upsidedown spinning crap pulled by Ice-t's character. Here is supposed to be some major badass and he goes and pulls some idiotic stunt like that. Bleh :P

Overall it was a good movie. That scene in the highway john with the guy farting next to the kids head was hilarious.

Yah, not to shabby!

Nice guns and action!

I've seen it sitting at Blockbuster for weeks now but thought it was an Elvis movie. I'll rent it this week.

This post must have gotten my hopes up, because I thought 300 Miles was mediocre at best.

The characters are totally unoriginal, and so is the plot. They also reused plot devices WAY too much. I just felt like I was seeing some of the same scenes over and over again.

I'd give it 6/10.

Just watched it and liked it.
I thought it was entertaining, far better than many flicks I've rented lately.

Is Elvis STILL that big in Vegas these days? I mean......'Elvi's' everywhere?

It's an awesome movie, and seems to get better each time I play it. Some real cool scenes in it for sure.

And yes, Elvis is still big in Vegas. Some shows still use an Elvis impersonator and some lounge shows have one as the main attraction. Tourists still crave Elvis and shows like that usually do very well. He was the most successful entertainer in Vegas history and they are still making moola off of him. But his likeness isn't everywhere except when they do have an Elvis convention or celebration.

I'll rent it again someday then. I've never been to Vegas but I think it'd probably be alot of fun w/o a wife or GF along, a guy kinda place. I know my wife has no interest in going there and I wouldn't think it'd be fun for me with her there either.

One thing's for sure, airfare to there is cheap now. I keep getting a travelers pop-up add telling me about cheap rates to there and elsewhere, like $70 round trip.
