I liked it alot. But you're right, the ending could have just been "left out" at editing. But the ape scenes were cool as hell. I wonder how much it would cost me to dress that way for Holloween..hmmm

"I thought it was OK but the ending was Totally stupid."

Isn't that 'par for the course' for every Hollywood action movie lately? Sucks donut?

I still wanna see it tho...

I wanna be Estella Warren for Halloween! ;)
I thought it was okay, but not much better than Final Fantasy. I absolutely hated the ending.

I just saw it this afternoon and I liked it alot! However, I have to agree that the ending was....not stupid really just.....well yeah stupid. Even making allowances for future sequels it was dumb. Like there would be anything more that happens to him after that ending to build a movie on. He would just be dead. Ah well, it was a great flick until then.

Odd, I thought the movie was ok, and the ending was one of the best parts. Go figure.

The ending of the original is my favorite part, so that may have something to do with it.

Can anyone tell me wtf exactly was that ending? I didn't get it, did the future somehow change the past (which makes zero sense) or did he end up in some alternate past?

My take on it was that he was not sent back far enough. It was the beginning of when the apes ruled.

That cannot be, because the statue is of Thade.

It doesn't make a lot of sense, but it does make me want to see a sequel, so I can figure out what the hell was going on.

Well, you got me. :(

MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T SEEN IT YET

It has to be an alternate past. When he goes through the storm again you see two things.

1) The date goes back to where he left from
2) The course he is on takes him directly to Earth (which is apparant from where he lands)

But even so, I don't see where a second flick would come into play here. Thade wanted to kill all humans, and on the alternate Earth he apparantly succeeded. With only Mark Wahlberg's character alive on the new Earth, and him surrounded by apes as he was, there is no real way to take off with that. They might study him for awhile, but nothing worthy of a sequel. I don't know. Makes no sense.
